What is the difference between LED Light and Conventional Light? LED Lighting is a low voltage solution to lighting applications. Drawing only a fraction of the current. While Conventional lighting offers a warmer color temperature in general, it takes a lot of energy / electricity to achieve a bright output of light. (aka Lumen) LEDs are getting brighter and brighter and they are now available in a wide range of voltages including 110v. LEDs can offer infinite color possibilities with one LED. The difference is that LEDs can be designed or used in arrays, washes, pixels, and etc. Convential fixtures draw more energy to get a punch, wash, or highlight. LEDs are simply more energy efficient and offer more control capibility depending on the design. LEDs are a light source, just like a video or a hallway light. LED Theatrical lighting is commoning used as stage washes, screens, uplights, video arrays, cove lighting, and many more applications, especially RGB color mixing. Many LEDs are found in Tail lights, Brake lights, lighted LED Signs, etc. You can now make decisions based on color vs. light output. LED RGB fixtures can now mix color using additive color mixing. Depending on the wattage you can now reduce the number of fixtures needed to generated color and you can also reduce your electrical requirements. |
